About Wallsend Pathfinders

What is Pathfinders?

Pathfinders is a church-centred, spiritual and recreational program for young people aged 10 to 16 years. It combines outdoor activities, personal development, service and faith-based learning.

Do children have to be Seventh-day Adventist to join?

No. Young people of any faith background are welcome to join.

Joining and Registration

How do I join or renew?

Membership is completed through the online Join or Renew process on the website.

Is registration required every year?

Yes. All Pathfinder-aged children must complete annual online registration. Parents who intend to help or attend camps must also register for themselves.

Fees and Financial Support

What are the annual fees?
  • New Pathfinders: $180 ($175 with sibling discount)
  • Returning Pathfinders: $105 ($100 with sibling discount)
Is financial assistance available?

Yes. Families experiencing hardship are encouraged to contact the Pathfinder Director.

Camps

How much do camps usually cost?

Camp fees are typically $38 per camp per Pathfinder.

Can a non-member attend a camp?

Yes. A non-registered child may attend one camp only, usually costing around $50, provided all required forms are completed. Non-registered parents are not permitted to attend any camps.

Parent Helpers

Can parents attend camps?

Yes. Parents may attend camps provided they are registered and meet child protection requirements.

Can parents attend their child’s first camp?

Yes. Parents of first-time Pathfinders may attend the first camp, subject to expectations and child protection requirements.

Child Protection

What is required for adults attending events?

Adults must hold a current Working With Children Check and comply with the club’s child protection requirements.

Uniforms

Does Pathfinders have a uniform?

Yes. The club has a Field Uniform for most activities and a Dress Uniform for special events.

Awards

When is the Award Ceremony held?

The Award Ceremony at Pathfinders is called Investiture, Investiture is usually held in early December.

What attendance is required for Investiture?

Pathfinders must participate in at least 75% of events annually to receive their year-level awards.
